Tieback Inspection & Testing
Grouted ground anchor, which is generally termed as “tieback”, is commonly selected as the preferable bracing method for the shoring system as its interference with the construction is minimal. Upon installation, thorough testing and inspection is required to ensure satisfactory performance of the tieback in accordance to design requirements while meeting the acceptance criteria as specified under the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) guidelines for prestressed rock and soil anchors.
Working closely with the shoring engineers, we provide following tieback testing and inspection services:
• Tieback Performance Test
We provide tieback performance test, which involves the application of an incremental cyclic loading on the tieback system while its total and residual movement and creep behavior is recorded. We ensure proper set-up of equipment required to conduct the performance test in conformance to the testing procedure as specified under Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) guidelines and other relevant code requirements.
• Tieback Proof Test
We provide tieback proof test, which involves the application of an incremental loading on the tieback system while its total movement and creep behavior is recorded. The proof test is generally used on tiebacks for which no performance test is conducted. We ensure proper set-up of equipment required to conduct the proof test in conformance to the testing procedure as specified under Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) guidelines and other relevant code requirements.
• Reporting and Engineer Review
We provide you with a comprehensive report explaining the test results, completed with tabulated test records of load, time, and movement in a timely manner after scheduled testing has been completed. We have qualified engineers with years of relevant experience to provide a thorough review and to certify that the works are in general conformance of the specified requirements.
